India’s pioneering IT firm, Infosys has launched a next-generation learning platform designed for engineering students. The e-learning platform called InfyTQ offers curated content designed to offer an unmatched learning experience for students across the country.
InfyTQ (talent quotient) is offered as an app for students. The company unveiled the app in its Mysuru campus in the presence of 300 colleges students. The students that participate in the courses will get access to proprietary courses designed to teach new-age technologies. The platform will also play a major role in the hiring process for the company.
In the launch event, Infosys COO Pravin Rao said, “It offers a ready channel for students to stay connected with the latest developments. The courses available will eventually lead to certification that will make students industry-ready. We will introduce leader boards, badges, and other aspects of gamification to increase adoption.”
As of now the app is launched for Android and the web. The company is working on the iOS version as well. The courses included in the app train students on four tech key tech building blocks – programming fundamentals, object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms, and database management systems (dbms).
The first three blocks are dedicated to teaching Python. Infosys plans to add new courses to benefit the students, it will also add courses on emerging technologies. The platform also offers soft skills courses including one on business English.
The IT firm will also offer certification after completing these courses. The hands-on learning included in the courses will help students in learning advanced learning materials and act as a virtual programming environment for students.
Infosys plans to familiarise students with its culture and value system to attract them towards finding a potential job with the company.
